Daily Devotional
A short Bible passage and reflection chosen for today. Take five minutes to centre yourself.

What this screen is for
The devotional is the heart of your daily rhythm with North Star — a short passage, a thoughtful reflection, and a moment of prayer. It refreshes once a day, so each time you open it you're meeting today's reading.
You can read it any time. There's no "right" moment.
What's on the screen
The passage
The day's Bible passage with its reference (e.g. John 14:16–17). Tap the reference to open the passage in the full Bible Reader.
The reflection
A few short paragraphs that draw out one idea from the passage — written in plain, warm English. The aim is one clear takeaway, not a sermon.
The prayer
A short prayer at the end. You can pray it, adapt it, or just sit with it.
Reading font
Top-right is the Aa icon — tap it to switch between Editorial (Playfair italic) and Clear (sans). The setting carries across all reading screens.
Mark as read
When you're done, tap Mark as read at the bottom. This:
- Adds to your streak (if you've been reading daily)
- Removes the devotional from the home card until tomorrow
You don't have to mark it — it's just a small acknowledgement.
Common questions
Q: How is today's passage chosen? It's part of a thoughtful year-long plan that walks the whole Bible over time, with the season of the church year in mind.
Q: Can I read past devotionals? Yes — open Profile → My History to scroll through everything you've read.
Q: Is the reflection AI-written? Some are AI-assisted, written in scripture's voice and reviewed by us. You can tell the reflection from the AI's other responses in the app — the devotional is written carefully and deliberately, not in conversation.
Q: It's too long / too short. Let us know via Profile → Send Feedback — we tune the length based on what people are reading.
