What's free, what's Premium, and the three Premium tiers — monthly, annual, and lifetime.
What this screen is for
North Star has two tiers — Free and Premium. This page explains what's in each so you can pick what suits you.
Free
You can use North Star without paying anything. Free includes:
- Daily devotional (full text and reflection)
- Full Bible in NIV, ESV, KJV, NKJV — all features (read, audio, highlights, notes, search)
- Verse cards (unlimited)
- Journal — write as much as you want; no AI feedback
- Community prayer wall — read, post, pray
- Reading plans — every human-written plan
- One AI Bible chat per day (Ask tab)
- Three journal entries per day
- First week of one discipleship pathway (a taster, lifetime)
- Pastoral Care — free topics, scripture and a prayer at the end (without AI follow-up)
You can use the free plan indefinitely. There's no time limit, no nag screens to upgrade.
Premium — three options
All three include the same features. They differ only on how you pay.
Monthly — £7.99 / month
- 7-day free trial (cancel before day 7 and you're not charged)
- Best if you want to try Premium without committing
Annual — £49.99 / year
- Works out around £4.17 / month — about 48% off monthly
- The most popular option
Lifetime — £99 one-off
- Pay once, never pay again
- Limited availability — capped at the first 30 buyers
Every Premium tier unlocks:
- Unlimited AI Bible chats (Ask tab)
- AI journal feedback ("Let's Talk" mode)
- AI prayer writing (auto prayers in the Prayer tab)
- All weeks of every discipleship pathway (not just the taster)
- Sermon builder (turn a passage into a sermon outline)

How to subscribe
Tap a tier on the Upgrade screen and complete payment through Apple or Google. Your subscription is managed by them — to cancel, change card, or pause, you do it in your phone's subscription settings.
Common questions
Q: Will I be charged during my free trial? No. The trial is 7 days, then your subscription auto-renews at the standard rate. Cancel before day 7 from the App Store / Google Play and you'll pay nothing.
Q: Can I switch between monthly and annual? Yes — manage it from your phone's subscription settings.
Q: What happens to my data if I cancel? Nothing — you keep your account, journal, notes, highlights, prayers, and community posts. You just drop back to the free tier limits.
