Upgrading to Premium
How to subscribe, what happens on the payment screen, and how the 7-day free trial works.
What this screen is for
When you tap Upgrade anywhere in the app, you land here. It shows the three Premium tiers and a quick reminder of what Premium gives you.

The three tiers
- Monthly — £7.99 / mo, with a 7-day free trial for first-time subscribers
- Annual — £49.99 / yr (~£4.17 / mo, ~48% off)
- Lifetime — £99 one-off (capped at 30 buyers)

What happens when you tap a tier
Your phone's standard payment sheet appears — Apple's on iPhone, Google's on Android. You confirm with Face ID, Touch ID, or your password. We never see your card details — Apple and Google handle that.
After payment:
- Your Premium features unlock straight away
- A receipt comes from Apple or Google by email
- Your subscription appears in your Profile with the renewal date
During the 7-day free trial
- No charge for the first 7 days
- Cancel any time before day 7 from your phone's subscription settings → you're not charged, you drop back to Free
- If you don't cancel, the subscription auto-renews at the standard rate
- The trial is one per Apple ID / Google account, lifetime
Restoring a purchase
If you bought Premium and don't see it on a new device (or after reinstalling), tap Restore purchase at the bottom of the Upgrade screen. Apple / Google will check your account and re-enable Premium.
Common questions
Q: How do I cancel? Apple: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → North Star → Cancel. Google Play: Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → North Star.
Q: I was charged but Premium isn't active. Tap Restore purchase in the Upgrade screen. Still not working? Send us feedback from Profile.
Q: I want a refund. Refunds are handled by Apple and Google. On Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com. On Google: play.google.com/store/account.
Q: Why don't you offer payment directly? App store rules — and frankly, Apple / Google make payment easier and safer for you too.
