What this screen is for

Ask is one of four tabs inside Connect (alongside Prayer, Pastoral, and Sermon). It's your one-to-one space to ask anything — a passage you don't understand, a hard question you're sitting with, or a "what does the Bible say about…" question.

The AI is shaped by scripture. It's warm, doesn't preach, doesn't pretend to be a pastor, and it will always point you back to His Word.

How to ask a question

The question bar

At the bottom of the screen you'll see "Ask about the Bible, faith, or God…" with a gold send button (the arrow). Type your question and tap send.

You don't need to phrase things carefully — ask in your own words.

Examples that work well:

  • "What does the Bible say about worry and fear?"
  • "I don't get the parable of the prodigal son."
  • "Why is the book of Job in the Bible?"

Pastoral vs Study mode

Just below the Ask tab you'll see two small toggles:

  • Pastoral — gentle, supportive, written to walk with you. Best when you're carrying something heavy.
  • Study — more detailed, leans into Bible references and context. Best when you're researching.

The current mode is shown underlined in gold. You can switch any time.

The label next to it (e.g. Warm · Accessible · Pastoral) tells you the tone you'll get for this question.

How the AI answers

Answers come back in a soft grey card with proper paragraphs and verse references in bold. Scroll up to read the whole response.

You can keep asking follow-up questions — the AI remembers the conversation, so "what about that verse again?" works.

Clear the conversation

Top-right is a small Clear button. Tap it to start a fresh conversation. (Your past conversations aren't saved — clearing just wipes the screen.)

Common questions

Q: Is the AI a pastor? No. It's a tool to help you study and reflect — not a substitute for a real pastor, your church, or your Bible. If you're in crisis, please talk to a real person.

Q: How accurate are the answers? The AI is grounded in scripture and reviewed carefully, but it can still make mistakes. Always check verses for yourself.

Q: Are my questions private? Yes. Your conversation is private to you and isn't shared with anyone. See the Privacy Policy for the full details.

Q: Can I ask about my own life? Yes — but for personal pastoral support, Pastoral Care (next tab over) is usually the better fit, because it's structured around specific things people walk through.

Q: There's no send button — why? It's hidden until you've typed something. Start typing and it appears.
