What this screen is for

Pastoral is one of four tabs inside Connect. It's for the heavy stuff — the things you'd talk to a pastor about if one was sitting next to you. North Star can't replace a real pastor, but it can meet you in the moment with scripture, prayer, and gentle, careful words.

The opening question on the screen says it best:

What are you going through? Whatever you're facing, you're not alone. Choose a topic and let's walk through it together with Scripture and prayer.

How it works

Pick a topic

Below the question is a grid of cards, each with a small gold icon and a short description. Tap any one to begin.

The starter topics include:

  • Anxiety — Finding peace in Christ
  • Grief — Walking through loss
  • Addiction — Grace and freedom
  • Forgiveness — Releasing and receiving
  • Purpose — Your calling in God
  • Relationships — Love and boundaries
  • Anger — Transforming your heart
  • Depression — Hope in the darkness

Scroll down for more topics. There's no "right" one to choose — pick whatever feels closest to what you're carrying today.

Inside a topic

When you tap a topic, North Star opens a guided walk-through:

  • A gentle introduction in plain English
  • Scripture passages chosen for what you're facing
  • Reflection questions so you can sit with it
  • A prayer you can pray (or just read) at the end

You can pause and come back any time — your progress is remembered.

Common questions

Q: Will the app share what I'm going through? No. Everything in Pastoral Care is private to you.

Q: What if my topic isn't in the list? Tap Ask (the tab to the left) and ask in your own words — the AI can offer pastoral support on any subject in a similar tone.

Q: I'm in crisis. Can this help? Please reach out to someone now — a friend, a pastor, or a crisis line. North Star is a companion, not an emergency service.

Q: Can I revisit a topic? Yes — your topics are saved. Tap a topic again to reopen it where you left off.

Q: Is this like therapy? No. It's a scripture-led space for reflection and prayer. It doesn't replace professional counselling — and if you need it, please seek it out.
